How to Fix Missing CS2 Desktop Icon: A Simple Guide
I had a problem with my CS2 desktop icon: it was just a plain white square, which looked pretty bad on my desktop.
But don't worry, I've got you covered with some easy fixes.
First, let's download the official CS2 icon. You can get it from the SteamDB website. If you want a different look, you can get any icon you like from the internet.
Once you have your icon file, here's what to do:
- Right click on the CS2 shortcut on your desktop.
- Click on "Properties" in the menu that pops up.
- Click on the "Web Document" tab.
- You'll see a "Change Icon" button – click that, and now you can select the icon you just downloaded.
If the icon doesn't look as sharp as you'd like, there's a quick fix for that too. Make sure you're using the "clienticon" file instead of the regular "icon" file. It's higher resolution and should look much better.
Don't have an .ico file? No problem.
You can easily convert a jpg image to ico format using online tools. Just search for "jpg to ico converter" and you'll find plenty of options.
With these steps you should be able to get your CS2 desktop icon looking just the way you want it.
