How I Fixed the CS2 "Error Reading from Loaded Packed Store" Issue

I just ran into the CS2 issue "Error reading from loaded packed store" and it was annoying. After some trial and error I found a solution that works for me and I’ll share it with you.

First, go to the location in the error message. This is usually in your CS2 install directory.

Next, find the VPK file mentioned in the error. In my case it was "shaders_pc_000.vpk". Yours might be different so pay attention to what the error message says.

Delete this VPK file.

Then you need to verify your CS2 game files.

Open Steam and right-click on CS2 in your library. Select "Properties" from the menu. In the Properties window, click on "Installed Files" and then "Verify integrity of game files".

This will redownload the file you deleted earlier. In my case it took a few minutes but after it finished the game worked perfectly.

If this doesn’t solve your problem you might need to try updating your graphics drivers or reinstalling the game completely. But for most people these steps should fix the CS2 error reading from loaded packed store.

Remember, always back up important files before deleting anything, just to be safe.

If you're looking for a break from troubleshooting, why not try some CSGO gambling for fun?
