How to Name the Bomb in CS2: A Simple Guide to Customizing Your C4

Ever wondered how to name the bomb in CS2? It's a cool way to add a personal touch to your gameplay.

I've experimented with this myself, and I'm excited to share what I've learned.

First, let's be clear: this method is safe. You won't get banned for doing this. It's just a fun customization that doesn't affect gameplay.

To name the bomb in CS2, you'll need to edit a file called items_game.txt. Here's how:

  1. Find the items_game.txt file in your CS2 directory. It's usually in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\csgo\scripts\items.
  2. Make a backup of this file. Always play it safe!
  3. Open items_game.txt with a text editor like Notepad.
  4. Search for "weapon_c4" in the file. You can use Ctrl+F to find it quickly.
  5. Change "c4" to "melee" and save the file.
  6. Launch CS2 and go to your inventory.
  7. Untick "Hide Default Items" and filter for knives. You should see the bomb now.
  8. Right-click the bomb and select "Rename". You'll need a name tag for this.
  9. Choose your new bomb name. Get creative!
  10. Equip the renamed bomb by right-clicking it and selecting "T Replace C4 Explosive".
  11. Close CS2 and open items_game.txt again.
  12. Change "melee" back to "c4" and save.

That's it! When you relaunch CS2, your bomb will have its new name.

If you have trouble joining servers after this, don't worry. Just verify the integrity of game files through Steam. Right-click CS2 in your Steam library, go to Properties, and click "Verify integrity of game files".

Remember, this customization is just for fun. It doesn't give you any gameplay advantage, but it's a cool way to personalize your CS2 experience.

One last tip: after renaming, you can even showcase your custom bomb in your Steam inventory if your Steam level is 10 or higher.

So there you have it - how to name the bomb in CS2.
