How to Remove Player Limit in CS2: A Complete Guide

Removing the player limit in CS2 is easy. I'll show you how.

To remove the player limit in CS2 you need to use a launch option. Here's what you do:

  1. Open Steam and go to your CS2 game library.
  2. Right click on CS2 and select "Properties".
  3. In the properties window find the "Launch Options" section.
  4. Add this: -maxplayers <number>
  5. Replace <number> with the player limit you want (up to 255).
  6. Click "OK"

For example if you want to set it to 64 players you'd enter: -maxplayers 64

Note that the theoretical maximum is 255 but CS2 only supports up to 32 players reliably. Going above this may cause performance issues or weird behavior.

The old maxplayers_override option is no longer used in CS2. -maxplayers is the new way to set the player limit.

Changing the player limit won't work while a server is already running. You need to restart the server for the changes to take effect.

Now you should have removed the player limit in CS2 and set it to what you want.
