How to Watch Demos in CS2: A Complete Guide

Watching demos in Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) is a great way to improve your gameplay or rewatch memorable matches.

Here's a step-by-step guide to watch demos in CS2.

Finding Premier Match Demos:

  1. Go to your Steam profile
  2. Click on Games
  3. Select CS:GO
  4. Go to My Game Stats
  5. Click on Personal Game Data
  6. Select Premier Matches
  7. Find the match you want and click "Download GOTV Replay"
  8. Save the .bz2 file to your CS2 installation folder

Preparing the Demo:

  1. Extract the .bz2 file using 7-Zip or WinRAR
  2. Rename the .dem file if desired
  3. Watching the Demo:
  4. Launch CS2
  5. Open the console
  6. Type "playdemo [demoname]" (replace [demoname] with your file name) and press enter
  7. Use "demoui" command to access the demo controls

For FACEIT demos:

  1. Go to the match room (within 30 days of the match)
  2. Click "Watch Demo" to download
  3. Extract the file to your CS2 installation folder
  4. Rename the demo file
  5. Follow the same steps as above to watch

Remember, demos should be saved in the "csgo" folder within your CS2 installation directory, typically: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\game\csgo

By following these steps, you'll be able to watch CS2 demos with ease.
