CS2 Quickswitch Bind: The Ultimate Guide to Fast Weapon Switching

If you're coming from CS:GO, you might've noticed that your old binds don't work the same way in CS2. Don't worry, I've got you covered.

In this guide you'll learn what is a CS2 quickswitch bind, how it works and how to use it.

First, what's a quickswitch bind? It's a command that switches to your knife and then quickly back to your weapon when you press a specific key.

It's popular among AWP and Scout users, and some even use it with the Deagle. While it doesn't affect recoil or fire rate, it prevents automatic re-scoping and looks pretty cool, especially if you've got a fancy knife skin.

Here's how to set up a CS2 quickswitch bind:

  1. Open the Console Window (usually the '~' key)
  2. Enter this command: alias +switchw "slot3"; alias -switchw "lastinv"; bind "Q" +switchw

This binds the quickswitch to your Q key. It will switch to your knife (slot3) when pressed and back to your last weapon when released.

Now, here's the catch: some players report this working perfectly, while others have issues.

If it doesn't work for you, try this workaround: Double-tap Q quickly to switch between your last two weapons.

Alternatively, press 3 (knife) and then 1 (primary weapon) in quick succession.

Important tip: To make sure your bind doesn't disappear when you close the game, save it in your autoexec.cfg file. You can find this file in ".../steamapps/common/CSGO/game/csgo/cfg/".

Remember, CS2 doesn't support multiple actions bound to one key like CS:GO did. That's why we need this new approach.
