How to add bots in CS2: Quick and easy guide

To add bots in CS2, use the console command "bot_add" followed by the number of bots you want to add. For example, "bot_add 5" will add 5 bots to the game.

I've been playing CS2 since its release and have spent countless hours experimenting with console commands to improve my gaming experience.

Adding bots is a great way to practice your skills and strategies without the pressure of playing against real opponents.

In this guide, I'll walk you through adding bots and share additional console commands to customize their behavior.

Let's quickly learn how to add bots in Counter-Strike 2:

  1. Enable the Developer Console: First, you must enable the developer console in the game settings. This is where you'll input the commands to add bots.
  2. Open the Console: Press the toggle console button (usually the tilde key ~) to open the console.
  3. Add a Bot: To add a bot to a random team, type bot_add into the console. If you want to specify which side the bot should join, use bot_add_ct for counter-terrorists or bot_add_t for terrorists.
  4. Add More Bots: Repeat the bot_add, bot_add_ct, or bot_add_t commands as often as you want to add more bots.

Remember that you can't add unlimited bots due to mode limits.

If you want to add more than the mode allows, you must disable auto-balance and team limits in your game settings.

This tutorial allows you to easily add CS2 bots to your game and enjoy playing with or against AI opponents.

Why should you add bots in CS2?

Link

Adding bots to your CS2 gameplay can significantly improve your in-game experience, especially when practicing your skills offline or in multiplayer matches.

When I first started playing CS2, I was hesitant to jump into online matches. I wanted to practice and improve my skill level before facing real opponents.

That's where expert bots came in handy.

By adjusting the bot's difficulty to increase or decrease the difficulty level, you can create a controlled environment that challenges you just enough to help you grow.

Whether learning the maps, improving your aim, or experimenting with new strategies, bots provide a pressure-free way to level up your game.

When you're ready for multiplayer action but can't find enough players to fill the slots, bots can step in to keep the teams balanced and the match exciting.

How do you add more than 5 bots?

Link

Do you need more than 5 bots in your match? Here is how to do it:

  1. Enable the Developer Console in your CS:GO game settings. This will allow you to input commands to change the default value for the number of bots.
  2. Start a Local Game by hitting the console key and typing "map de_dust2" (or any other map you prefer). This will load up a game with just you in it.
  3. Enable Cheats and Disable Team Limits and Balance. Open the console and use these commands:
    • sv_cheats 1 (enables cheats)
    • mp_limitteams 0 (disables team limits)
    • mp_autoteambalance 0 (disables auto team balance)
  4. Now it's time to add some bots! Use the command "bot_add" followed by either "T" or "CT" to add bots to the terrorist or counter-terrorist side. For example:
    • bot_add T (adds one bot to the terrorist side)
    • bot_add CT (adds one bot to the counter-terrorist side)

Keep repeating this command until you have your desired number of bots. Since we disabled the team limits, you can surpass the default value of 5 bots per team.
